Halloween Swingthing has been running in Southern California for almost 30 years. John Wheaton created this event always having a special love of Halloween. Along with his many other events, he provided family friendly dance conventions multiple times a year. Over the course of his life, he ran 80 dance events, more than anyone in the Swing dance world.

As children, Jordan and Tatiana attended this event, competing in junior Jack and Jill, participating in the costume contest, and later teaching professionally at HST. In 2012, John asked them to take on a Creative Director role in the event, and with that become co-event directors.

For the next 8 years, the three of them grew the event, brought in new ideas, created the famous “Scary Strictly” along with “Room to Room Tick or Treat” and continued the love for Halloween and WCS. After John’s passing in 2022, it is their honor to continue John’s legacy, by taking over responsibility for Halloween Swingthing, and continuing to make this the premiere destination for Halloween and swing!
